As a federal institution for public law, directly accountable to the Federal Government, the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (Bundesanstalt für Landwirtschaft und Ernährung, BLE) conducts its operations within the scope of business of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
The BLE fulfills several tasks for the Federal Ministray of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection on the international level. It supports the ministry in general issues of international cooperation on global food security. A special emphasis of the BLE’s international activities is on information and knowledge management for international cooperation in the field of agricultural research, global food security and rural development.
In Sept 2010, the German Federal Agency for Agriculture and Food hosted a bioenergy workshop in Bonn, Germany. I worked together with the Agency to organize the workshop. My responsibilities included organisational tasks prior to the event, working together with several countries on the workshop agenda, coordinating the communications with the delegates, and supporting the documentation of the workshop.
